The construction of the Lab Annex was funded through an Economic Development Initiative (EDI)-Special Project grant through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Although the Annex is connected to the FEC’s parent building, it is self-contained, with a small coffee bar, utility sink and restrooms, as well as designated parking spaces.
